Glen Theodore “Teddy” Thompson

Glen Theodore “Teddy” Thompson, 71, of Harborcreek, PA, and formerly of Kersey, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 20, 2016, in Erie.

He was born in Kersey, son of the late Glen and Marguerite Sidelinger Thompson. A graduate of the St. Marys High School, Class of 1962, he entered the Army in 1965.  He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served there for all of 1966.  He attained the rank of Corporal.  Upon his discharge, he enrolled in the General Electric Apprentice Course in Erie. He was a retired employee of General Electric and Steris Corporation of Erie.

Teddy is survived by two sisters, Patricia Uhl and her husband William of Kersey and Jeanne Sheeley of Kersey; a brother, Roger D. Thompson of Kersey; his friend, Barb Ganzer of Erie; and by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Marie Thompson, in infancy.

Teddy was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of the Toby United Methodist Church. He loved going to the Dog Park on Presque Isle in Erie, where he spent most of his time after his retirement.  He said he knew all the dogs there by name.  He never missed a family reunion and going back to Kersey when he could.

Funeral Services will be held in the Toby United Methodist Church on Friday, May 27, 2016, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Karen Trask, Pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the Fox Twp. Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, St. Marys, PA, on Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 AM.
