Gladys F. Edinger

Gladys F. Edinger, 81, of 155 Scotland Street, Dagus Mines, and a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Elk Haven after a brief illness.

She was born August 26, 1932 in Dagus Mines, daughter of the late Norman and Sadie Dempsey Edinger.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Dagus Mines and Kersey schools.  She worked at the Stackpole Carbon Company for 40 years and retired after its closure in 1988.  She was also a beautician in her home for many years.

She is survived by a sister Garnet Blose of Ridgway and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Mancini, Betty Valykeo, Jean Miller, and Joan Bish.

She was a Presbyterian by faith.  In her younger years, she enjoyed keeping her nieces for overnight visits.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.  Also she enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with her friends.

Funeral services will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow in the Earleyville Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
