George E. Malburg

George E. Malburg, 78, of St. Marys, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Penn Highlands Elk after an illness over the past six months.

He was born August 10, 1944, in St. Marys, son of the late Edmund G. and Janet Bauer Malburg. He was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1962. George was a police officer for a few years, drove trucks for City Transfer, and worked for Innovative Sintered Metals where he retired.

He is survived by his loving companion, Elizabeth “Liz” Stebich; his children, Georgianne Proesl and Jeff Malburg, both of St. Marys; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers: Harry Malburg (Jeanette) of Indiana, PA and Jon Malburg of Clearwater, FL; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Katharine Steele.

George was fan of Penn State and rooted for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. He enjoyed his time on the road especially when he traveled with Liz. George had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews.

Per George’s request, there will be no services.
