Geno J. Armanini, 92, of 115 Fairview Road, Kersey, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born January 11, 1923, in Brandy Camp, son of the late Angelo and Louisa Mariucci Armanini. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Horton Township High School. He was a retired employee of the Keystone Powdered Metal Company.
On June 9, 1947, in the St. Tobias Church in Brockway, he married Pauline Giughello, who preceded him in death on April 20, 1982. He then married Joan Dinsmore Gahr on May 24, 1986, and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Sandra Miller and her husband Dennis of Kersey and Barbara Gosselin and her husband Gerald of Williamsburg, VA; a stepson, Kevin Gahr and his wife Marilyn of Ridgway; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Dominica “Nini” Tamburlin of Kersey.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Angeline Facchine and Pauline Cenni; and by two brothers, Frank Armanini and Marshall Armanini.
Geno was a member of the St. Boniface Church and a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the Fox Township Senior Center and was a former member of the Fox Township Servicemen’s Burial Detail.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Monday, June 29, 2015, at 12:00 PM. Full military rites will be accorded by the Fox Township Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday morning from 10:00 until 11:30 AM.
