Gary L. Sorensen

Gary L. Sorensen, 74, of 108 Wehler Road, St. Marys, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 19, 2021, after passing away at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born January 26, 1947, in Port Allegany, son of the late Earl and Ida Forness Sorensen. Gary graduated from Smethport Area High School, Class of 1964, and had resided in St. Marys since 1967. He was a retired employee of Keystone Carbon Company, retiring after 40 years of service, and went on to work at Walmart for two years.

On October 26, 1947, in the Queen of the World Church, Gary married Mary Virginia Miles, who survives.

He is also survived by his sister, Connie Razey and her husband David of Olean/Portville, NY; his niece, Christine Hoyt and her husband Kevin; his nephew, Daniel Razey and his wife Patty; and by his great-nieces and nephews.

Gary was a member of the Queen of the World Church. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and shooting.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
