Gary J. DeFrain, Jr., 27, of 20350 Bennetts Valley Highway, Byrnedale, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 20, 2021, in Ridgway.

Gary was born April 5, 1994, in DuBois, son of the late Gary J. DeFrain and Jayne Sidelinger DeFrain, who survives of Byrnedale.  He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 2012.

In addition to his mother, Jayne Sidelinger DeFrain, Gary is survived by his brother, Mike DeFrain of St. Marys; his fur friend, Maxwell; his maternal grandmother, Marlene Long of Weedville; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Besides his father, Gary J. DeFrain, Gary was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Michael Sidelinger; and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Louise DeFrain.

Gary enjoyed working on cars, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his camp family.  He had a kind soul and heart; his personality was fun-loving, always a smile on his face.  He loved everyone.  He is now at peace.

There will be no visitation.

Funeral and committal services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
