Florence Secco, 91, of 105 Frey Road, Kersey, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 21, 2025 with her family by her side.
She was born November 1, 1933 in Kersey, daughter of the late Leo and Veronica Smithbauer Frey. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1951. Florence retired from Powdered Metal Products after over 25 years of service.
On June 23, 1951 in the St. Boniface Church, Florence married the late “Romey” Secco, who preceded her in death on January 1, 2019.
She is survived by three daughters: Rebecca “Becky” Powley of Wilcox, Joyce Secco and her husband, Keith Talbert, of Concord, NC, and Jennifer Mattiuz and her husband, Brian, of Kersey; two sons: Steven Secco and his wife, Mary, and Paul Secco and his wife, Pam, both of St. Marys; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Frey of Kersey.
In addition to her husband and parents, Florence was preceded in death by two daughters: Mary Jane Secco and Annette Secco; a son, Dan Secco; a granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Secco; a son-in-law, Michael Powley; three sisters: Alice Wickett, Dorothy Meyer, and Gladys Gillen; and two brothers: James Frey and Robert Frey.
Florence was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Boniface Church. She would attend Sunday Mass and when she was unable, she would watch it on television. She was a very social person, enjoying her time with friends playing cards, Bingo, and going to the casino. She especially enjoyed being with her family. She was a member of the Lions Club, the Eagles Club and the Fox Township Fireman’s.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Boniface Church on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 10:00AM with Rev. Christopher Beran, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface Gathering Space from 9:00AM until the time of service.
