Evelyn M. Claypool

Evelyn M. Claypool, 84, of 105 Fern Lane, Kersey, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness.

She was born May 1, 1930 in Kersey, daughter of the late Irvin and Magdeline Minnich Wonderly. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey schools.  She was a retired employee of Elco Sintered Alloys, and had worked at the former Central Restaurant and the former Little Skipper.

On May 24, 1952 in Ridgway, she married Donald R. Claypool who preceded her in death on July 20, 1995.

She is survived by four sisters, Mary Louise Bennett of St. Marys, Nellie E. McClintick of Weedville, Loretta A. McClintick and her husband Gary of Weedville, and Virginia L. Carpin of Kersey; three brothers, Urban S. Wonderly, Sr. and his wife Ruby of Kersey, Robert J. Wonderly and his wife Rose of Ridgway, and James L. Wonderly and his wife Kathy of Weedville; and by nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” M. Wonderly and Margaret K. Woodring; and a brother, Joseph F. Wonderly.

Mrs. Claypool was an active member of the Fox Twp. Firemen’s Auxiliary and the Fox Twp. Senior Center.

Funeral Services will held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 11:00 AM with Pearl (Mrs. John) Vanstreet, Chaplain of the Fox Twp. Senior Center, officiating. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
