Ethel T. Caseman

August 12, 2016 — February 10, 1929

Ethel T. Caseman, 87, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of 348 Brusselles Street, St. Marys, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016, at Elk Haven, after a brief illness.

She was born February 10, 1929, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Urban and Theresia Meyer Samick. Ethel was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, Class of 1947.  She was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring in 1989 after 42 years of service.  Ethel was a member of the Queen of the World Church.

On June 7, 1985, in the Queen of the World Church, she married Robert J. Caseman, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2000.

Ethel is survived by a step son, Robert Caseman, Jr. and his wife Min of Georgia; and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Gerber and Florence Samick; and by a brother, John “Jack” Samick. She was the last member of her immediate family.

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857, or to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA  15857.
