Elizabeth “Bette” K. Boschert, a lifelong resident of St. Marys, passed away at her home Monday evening, December 28, 2020.
She was born October 27, 1926 in St. Marys, the daughter of Kathryn (Grant) and George E. Kronenwetter.
On November 18, 1950 Bette married August R. “Gus” Boschert in the Sacred Heart Church.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Gregg J. Boschert; a daughter, Jane E. Boschert; and a brother, Joseph G. Kronenwetter.
She is survived by her children: Wes (Sharon) Boschert of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Julie (Stephen) Carr of Ocean Ridge, Florida, and Bill, of Akron, Ohio, as well as her sister, Jane K. (Jerome) Rupprecht.
Bette had five grandchildren: Gus (Jen) Boschert, Andrew Boschert, Blair (Ryan) Brown, Merrill Carr, and Max Carr; and two great-grandchildren: Luke and Owen Boschert.
She was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School Class of 1944. Bette then earned a degree in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University graduating in 1986.
Bette was actively involved in the St. Marys community. She served on the finance committee of the St. Marys Women’s Club and later served as its President in 1961. She was a longtime member of the Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary where she also served as its President. Bette was a member of the Business and Professional Women Foundation of Elk County.
Bette was a Member of the St. Mary’s Parish serving on both the Parish Council and the Bereavement Committee.
Bette retired from the First Commonwealth Bank (Deposit Bank) in 1994 where she had worked for 25 years. She was an avid bridge player, loved reading and enjoyed exercising.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1645 West Eighth Street, Erie, PA 16505.
