Eileen M. Erich, 92, of 1467 North Bullock Road, Wellsboro, and formerly of St. Marys, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the home of her son, John Erich, after a brief illness.
She was born October 21, 1923, in St. Marys, daughter of the late John and Sarah Hasselman Miles. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1942. She was an employee of the former Loblaws.
On June 26, 1943, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Leo J. Erich who preceded her in death on January 12, 1990.
Eileen is survived by a daughter, Patricia Neal and her husband Duane of Maytown, PA; two sons, Donald L. Erich and his wife Cynthia of Johns Creek, GA and John T. Erich and his wife Ilene of Wellsboro, PA; seven grandchildren, Emilie Erich-Hoffman, Carl Erich, Christopher Erich, Jackie Neal, Justin Neal, Jarred Neal, and Josh Neal; five great grandchildren, Sawyer Erich, Ethan Neal, Alexis Neal, Liam Neal, and Lyla Neal; and by one sister, Velma Gross and her husband Jay of St. Marys.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl J. Erich; and a sister, Sara Jane Schaberl.
Eileen was a member of the St. Mary’s Church and was active in the Cursillo Movement. She loved to cook and embroider pictures.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Monday, May 9, 2016, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday, May 8, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
