Edith M. “DeDe” Earle, 89, of 1288 Glen Hazel Road, St. Marys, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, at Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
She was born February 11, 1929, in Wallkill, NY, daughter of the late Mulford and Lottie Berryann Decker. DeDe was a graduate of Wallkill Central High School. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for 20 years at the VA Medical Center in Castle Point, NY and was named Citizen of the Year in 1969. DeDe was cofounder and active member of the Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and served as Personnel Director and trainer. She had been a resident of St. Marys since 2003.
On July 11, 1948, in Wallkill, NY, DeDe married Stanley J. Earle, who preceded her in death on August 23, 1977.
She is survived by her son, Gregory Earle and his wife Gail of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Stacy Seamon and her husband Gary of Kissimmee, FL and Christopher Earle and his wife Theresa of St. Marys; and by three great grandchildren, Iris Earle, Abigail Seamon, and Emmalene Seamon.
In addition to her parents and husband, DeDe was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Roebuck and Edna Davis; and by a brother, Wilson Decker, in childhood. She was the last member of her immediate family.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral and committal services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
