Dorothy M. Stauffer

Dorothy M. Stauffer, 97, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, and formerly of 261 Louis Street, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Pinecrest Manor, after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 24, 1920, in Kersey, daughter of the late Lawrence and Clara Emmett Gahr. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1938.  Dorothy was a retired employee of Speer Carbon Company and was a member of St. Mary’s Church.

On September 25, 1943, in the St. Boniface Church in Kersey, Dorothy married Robert P. “Firp” Stauffer, who preceded her in death on September 18, 1996.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Edith Stauffer of St. Marys; a great niece, Alana Stauffer of Kersey; two grandchildren, Denise (Dan) D’Aloia of Chicago, IL and Susan Warren of St. Marys; and by three great grandchildren, Gianna, Vincent, and Mackenze.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Gilbert Stauffer on July 8, 2017; a sister, Ruthetta Cameroni; and by three brothers, Harold, James, and Donald Gahr. She was the last member of her immediate family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Monday, December 4, 2017, at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday morning from 10:30 until 11:30 AM.
