Dorothy A. Mitchell

Dorothy A. “Dot” Mitchell, 85, of Thunder Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Pinecrest Manor.

She was born April 7, 1940, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Frank J. and Eleanor Przybylski Simchick.  She was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, and was employed as an office manager at several physicians’ offices in the area.

On May 1, 1982, in Holy Rosary Church, Dot married the late Thomas E. Mitchell, Jr., who preceded her in death on April 14, 2025.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dot was preceded in death by three sisters: Lucy Myer, Cathy Snyder, and Ruth Bowes; and three brothers: Cy, Joe, and Rich Simchick.

She found joy in visits to the casino, savoring good meals dining out, and spending time in places filled with laughter and conversation.  Above all, she was deeply family-oriented, cherishing moments with her loved ones.  She had a stubborn spirit but her kindness and love for togetherness will be fondly remembered by all of her nieces and nephews who survive and cherish her memory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 10:00AM.  Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 8:30AM until 9:30AM.

Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity of one’s choosing.
