Dorothy M. Mattiuz

Dorothy M. Mattiuz, 84, of Sheeley Road, Kersey, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

She was born December 26, 1941, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Vincent and Marie Brehm Benton.  She was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1959, and a retired employee of Pure Carbon Company.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Anderson and her husband, David of Weedville; her long-term companion, Patrick Sheeley of Kersey; a dear friend, Linda Sheley of St. Marys; and numerous friends and relatives.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Benton.

Dorothy was a loving mother, a cherished friend, and a woman whose warmth touched everyone she met.  She found joy on long walks, motorcycle riding and traveling to new places with Pat, and shopping for the perfect find.  She enjoyed the outdoors and her time at camp.

Family meant everything to her.  She embraced the Sheeley Family as if it was her own, offering love, loyalty, and an open heart.  Above all else, she deeply loved her daughter, who was the center of her world and greatest pride.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:00AM with Rev. Christopher Beran, Pastor, celebrating.  Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface Church Gathering Space on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 9:30AM until the time of Mass.
