Donald L. “Nipper” Dippold, 70, of 787 Washington Street, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the UPMC Altoona Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born February 24, 1946, in St. Marys, son of the late James and Marjorie Kifer Dippold. He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School and was a retired employee of Powder Metal Products, retiring in 2007.
Nipper is survived by his lifetime partner, Peggy Fedor of St. Marys; nieces Brenda Auman (Scott) of North Carolina and Kim Dippold Taylor of St. Marys; and by great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Gary Dippold on November 27, 1996; and by his uncle and aunt, John “Spud” and Twila Coyle. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Nipper enjoyed trap and skeet, golfing, playing darts, yard work, trips to Salamanca, and was an avid pool player.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
