Donald F. Dippold

December 23, 2012 — April 22, 1932

Donald F. Dippold, 80, of 114 Woodland Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 23, 2012 at the Elk Regional Health Center.

He was born April 22, 1932 in St. Marys, son of the late John A. and Gertrude A. Wendel Dippold.  He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Catholic Schools.  He was a retired employee of Northway Trucking in Port Allegheny and was a former employee of Powdered Metal Products, where he worked for 37 years.

On June, 13, 1953 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Yvonne G. Read, who preceded him in death on May 17, 1997.

He is survived by three daughters, Sandra (Samuel) Mancuso of Kersey, Sharon (Terry) Krishart of Kersey, and Susan (Gary) Dauber of St. Marys; three sons, Damian J. (Roberta) Dippold of St. Marys, Terry L. (Cindy) Dippold of St. Marys, and Brian S. (Debbie) Dippold of St. Marys; 16 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; his companion, Dolores Detsch and her loving family of St. Marys; a sister, Ruth Nero of St. Marys; a brother, Richard (Joan) Dippold of St. Marys; and a brother-in-law, John Fedorko of Kersey.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Fedorko.

Mr. Dippold was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, spending time at his camp and visiting everyone.  He also enjoyed motorcycling and snowmobiling and had a love for animals, especially dogs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, as celebrant.  Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
