Donald K. Asti

Donald K. Asti, 81, of 923 Hickory Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 16, 2026 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Don was born December 23, 1944, in Johnsonburg, son of the late Samuel and Genevieve Mucci Asti. He was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1962, and a proud veteran of the United States Army. Don had a savvy business acumen with a background in accounting. He was the plant controller at SGL, where he worked for thirty-six years before retiring. Don kept busy following retirement as a consultant, assisting numerous past relationships with specific business dealings.

On January 13, 1968, in Queen of the World Church, Don married his beloved first wife, Ellen Yetzer. Together they shared more than five decades of life, love, memories, and family. Ellie preceded Don in death on September 2, 2019, leaving behind a lifetime of treasured memories that Don carried with him.

In time, Don was blessed to find love again. On October 4, 2024, in the Queen of the World Church, he married Charlene Panighetti Warmbrodt, who survives. Their marriage brought Don a new chapter of companionship, happiness, and love.

In addition to his wife, Charlene, Don is survived by two daughters: Dawn “Buffy” Michael (David) of Johnsonburg and Ashley Shaw (Chris) of Treasure Lake; two sons: Daniel Asti of Pittsburgh and Michael Asti (Shelly) of Sarver; seven grandchildren: Josh (Tish), Emily (Chad), Alec, Tyler, Eloise, Madeline, and Calvin due in January; two great-grandchildren: Nolan and Wyatt David Michael; two brothers: Sam Asti (Rita) of St. Marys and Richard Asti (Carol) of Anderson, SC; his two loyal dogs: Lola and Susie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to Ellie and his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Joseph Asti.

Don believed in giving back to his community and generously shared his time and talents with numerous organizations over the years. He was especially committed to the Elk County Humane Society, Christian Food Bank, and Junior Achievement. Don found meaning in making a difference in the lives of others.

He especially enjoyed walking dogs and spending time with the animals at the humane society. His volunteer work was never about recognition; Don simply believed that if he could help, he should.

Above all, Don cherished his family. The time spent with those he loved was among the greatest joys, and he treasured the memories made together.

Don’s life was defined not only in years he lived, but by the relationships he built and memories he left with those closest to him. He will be remembered with affection and gratitude by his family and friends, who will carry his memory in their hearts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Queen of the World Church on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11:00AM with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Full military honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 9:15AM until 10:15AM.
