Charles D. “Bud” Wagner, 71, of 421 Washington Street, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 7, 1941 in St. Marys, son of the late George and Marcella Hanes Wagner. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1959. He was a retired employee of Keystone Carbon Company, retiring in 2003 after 44 years of service.
On April 20, 1963 in the St. Boniface Church, he married Elizabeth J. “Betty” Grosser, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Kim (Gary) Hoffman and Lisa (Vic) Dezanet, both of St. Marys; a son, Jeff Wagner and his fiancé, Shelley Eckl of St. Marys; and six grandchildren, Daryl “DJ” Hoffman, Dillon Hoffman, Brooke Wagner, Jeffery Wagner, Tori Dezanet and Cole Dezanet. Also surviving are five sisters, Lucille (Florian “Stoney”) Samick of St. Marys, Lorraine McMackin of St. Marys, Betty Dicello of Kersey, Barbara Gradl of St. Marys and Nancy Kronenwetter of New Kensington, PA; a brother, George (Ann) Wagner of St. Marys; and his loving
dog, Lucky.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Kelly and Shirley Neidwecki; and a brother, William Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the PFL, the American Legion and the Moose. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and sons-in-law. He took pride in his home and lawn. He also enjoyed rides in the woods and cutting wood with his son-in-law, Vic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Eric Vogt OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
