Charles J. Cuneo

Charles J. Cuneo, 66, of 116 Hemlock Road, St. Marys, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the DuBois Nursing Home.

He was born August 26, 1946 in Ridgway, son of the late Joseph and Margaret Lee Cuneo.  He was a lifelong resident of the area.  He was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, Class of 1964 and also attended Jeff Tech.  He was a retired employee of SGL Carbon Company, retiring in 1998.

On August 14, 1976 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Catherine M. Marconi, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, James Cuneo of St. Marys and Thomas Cuneo and his wife Jennifer of Buffalo, NY; and two grandchildren, Morgan and Christian Cuneo.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen DiVittorio.  He was the last member of his immediate family.

Mr. Cuneo was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.  He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the Marine Corp., a member of the Ridgway American Legion, a former member of the St. Marys Sportsmen’s Club, a member of the former Bennetts Valley Gun Club, and volunteered for the Rides 4 Vets.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, officiating.  Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 6:00 till 9:00 PM.
