Catherine M. “Kay” Micale, 98, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of the Million Dollary Hwy., passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
She was born February 23, 1914 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Exler Donovan. She was a graduate of Pittsburgh Schools and had resided in the St. Marys area since 1954. She was a former employee of the Joseph Horne Department Store in Pittsburgh.
On September 7, 1936 in the St. Joseph’s Church in Carnegie, PA, she married Peter A. Micale who preceded her in death on June 25, 1986.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Zore and her husband Frank of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Catherine Marie Zore and her husband Darren Yanak of St. Marys and Frank Andrew Zore of St. Marys; two great grandchildren, Thomas Yanak and Sophia Yanak; and two sisters, Terry Donovan and Mary Lou Werwie, both of Pittsburgh.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Herron and Evelyn Knesboro; and by a brother, Charles Donovan.
Mrs. Micale was a member of the St. Boniface Church, the Rosary Society and the Fox Twp. Senior Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. James Faluszczak, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
