Carolyn Kathryn Jane Luchini Miller, 77, of State College, and a former Kersey resident, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her residence after an illness of the past several months.
She was born December 24, 1935, in Kersey, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Dominica Antonioli Luchini. As an infant, her mother passed away and she was raised by Joseph and Mary Antonioli Capuccini, who also preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1954, was a graduate of Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing, and was a graduate of Duquesne University.
On May 26, 1962, in the Holy Cross Church in Brandy Camp, she married James Carl Miller, who survives. She is also survived by two brothers, Joseph Luchini of Kersey and Samuel Luchini and his wife Betty of Kersey; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis Luchini, Vincent Luchini, John Luchini, Louis Luchini, Angelo Capuccini, Frank Capuccini, Ernest Capuccini, Joseph Capuccini, Jr., Bruno Capuccini, John Capuccini, and Andrew Capuccini; and her sisters, Olive Zanolli, Mary Capuccini, Rose Holtzhauser, Louise Gigliotti, Jennie Capuccini, and Mary in infancy.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Our Lady of Victory Church in State College and was an avid golfer and bowler.
There will be no visitation.
Due to the renovation of the St. Boniface Church, family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. James Faluszczak officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Kersey.
