Bonita M. Auman, 74, of 185 Center Street, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 22, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born July 18, 1942, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Edward J. “Bud” and Marie F. Pichler Auman, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools. Bonnie was a retired cosmetologist.
She is survived by a daughter, Beth Youngstrom and her husband Brian of Cook, MN; four grandchildren, Jess Scutella, Pvt. Daniel Scutella, Emily Julkowski and her husband Jake, and Darby Youngstrom; four sisters, Darlene Spangler and her husband James of Nashville, TN, Jolene Soland and her husband Gary of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Carleen McAteer and her husband Richard of Irwin, PA, and Maureen “Tammy” Gavazzi and her husband Michael of St. Marys and by two brothers, Edward J. “Buddy” Auman, Jr. and his wife Gwen of Ridgway and Thomas E. Auman and his wife Debbie of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Lynch Scutella; and by a sister, Constance Ives.
Bonnie worked with cancer patients in the “Look Good, Feel Good” program. She always strived for knowledge and was passionate about her fellow mankind. Bonnie was involved with numerous activities in the community and she enjoyed gardening. “She always wanted to make memories.”
A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.
