Arthur G. Hasselman

June 25, 2013 — March 7, 1939

Arthur G. Hasselman, 74, of 115 Pistner Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born March 7, 1939 in St. Marys, son of the late Michael and Agnes Glass Hasselman.  He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1957.  He was a retired employee of Keystone Carbon Company, retiring in 2001 with 43 years of service.

On November 18, 1961 in the Queen of the World Church, he married Betty J. Young, who survives.  He is also survived by three daughters, Gloria Gleixner of St. Marys, Linda Kottwitz and her husband Bill of St. Marys, and Amy Simbeck and her husband John of St. Marys; two sons, John D. Hasselman and his companion Amy VonArx of St. Marys and Alvin A. Hasselman (Barb Foster) of St. Marys; three granddaughters, Cassandra Krug, Katrina Krug, and Amanda Simbeck; and a brother, Daniel Hasselman and his wife Janet of St. Marys.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hasselman, who died in infancy.

Mr. Hasselman was a member of the Queen of the World Church and a Veteran of the US Army Reserves.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, 2013, from 5:00 till 8:00 PM.
