Angeline M. “Angie” Galluch, 94, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Elk Towers and Johnsonburg, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Elk Haven, following an illness of the past several months.
She was born October 27, 1920 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Leonardo and Michelina Vetrone Curci. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Ridgway Schools. She was a former aide at the Elk County General Hospital and Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital.
On June 16, 1942, in the St. Leo’s Church in Ridgway, she married Samuel F. Galluch, who preceded her in death on November 22, 1998.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Burden and her husband C. Wray, Delphine Gerber and her husband Floyd A., and Kathleen Reuscher and her husband Michael R., all of St. Marys; eight grandchildren, Leah VanHorn, Donna Snelick, Christopher Burden, Scott Burden, Dean Gerber, Keith Gerber, Jenny Gerber Rettger, and Michael W. Reuscher; and 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Samuel Francis Gerber and Samantha Rose Reuscher; five sisters, Mary Griech, Angiolina Curci, Genevieve Hyatt, Josephine Kline, and one sister who passed away in infancy; and three brothers, Antonio Curci, Nicholas Curci, and Salvatore “Sam” Curci. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Galluch loved cooking, decorating, playing cards, and bingo. She enjoyed being with her family and she loved all her friends at the Elk Haven Nursing Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
