Angela L. Walter

Mar 15, 1973 — Jul 1, 2026

Angela L. Walter, 53, of 728 W. Joseph Road, St. Marys, passed away with her family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born March 15, 1973, in St. Marys, daughter to the late Robert Neil (Teri) and Jane Young Gleixner (Larry).  She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1991.  Following high school, Angie continued her studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned her Master’s Degree from Clarion University.

On June 20, 1998, in Sacred Heart Church, Angie married Daniel “Dude” Walter, who survives.  Although the twenty-eight blessed years of marriage was cut far too short, it was filled with countless cherished memories and a partnership that will endure forever.

She was a caring daughter, devoted wife, and proud mother. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her children Jake Walter (Anna), Jayce Walter, and Janya Walter; sister-in-law, Kerri Neil (Joe LeBenne); father-in-law, Francis Walter; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gary Walter (Christine), Rick Walter (Nancy), Ann Undercoffer (Mike), Elaine Bartges (Harry), Linda Gregory (Tom), and Jim Walter (Lisa); and numerous nieces and nephews, including her brother Scott’s children, Maddy, Cole, and Jack.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Neil and mother-in-law, Dolores Walter.

She dedicated her career to serving the children of IU9, where she was much more than a teacher.  She was mentor, an advocate, and a source of encouragement for countless students.  Her students felt seen, valued, and loved, and her impact will continue into the future.

She cherished making memories with her family at the beach and found comfort in quiet evenings watching Hallmark movies.  She had a special place in her heart for her wrestling family.  The friendships, support, and shared experiences they created together became an extension of her own family. Her greatest joy in life was cheering on her children in everything they loved.  She fought with incredible determination to be present for Jake’s football games, Jayce’s wrestling matches, and Jayna’s cheer competitions.  No matter how difficult the day, her family was always her greatest priority.
