Alma F. Casaro

Alma F. Casaro, 99, a resident of the Masonic Village at Sewickley and formerly of 106 Fairview Road, Kersey, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Masonic Village.

She was born October 17, 1917, in Pardus, PA, daughter of the late Vincent R. and Gentila Lanzoni. She attended Sandy Valley Schools and was a resident of Elk County for over 70 years.  Alma was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company and retired from Quality Components.  She was a member of the St. Boniface Church.

On June 22, 1940, in the St. Mary’s Church in Reynoldsville, she married Joseph P. Casaro, who preceded her in death on March 3, 1980.

Alma is survived by a grandson Mark Casaro of Kersey; and by a daughter-in-law, Ruth Casaro of Ridgway.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jack V. Casaro; and by 11 brothers and sisters. She was the last member of her immediate family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.

Visitation is at the St. Boniface Church on Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
