Alice Marie (Johnson) Pennington, 89, a resident of the Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 101 North Mill Street, Ridgway, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Pinecrest Manor, after an illness of the past five years.
She was born April 29, 1927, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Mearl and Anne Weissenfluh Johnson. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Ridgway High School, Class of 1945.
On August 25, 1950, Alice married Floyd Pennington, who preceded her in death in June of 2011.
She is survived by a daughter, Shelly Herman and her husband Mark of York, PA; a son, Randall Pennington and his wife Darla of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Janice Wickwire of Ridgway; and a brother, Frederick Johnson and his wife Betty of Massachusetts.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by a son, Mark Pennington; a great grandchild, Elianna DePasquale; and by a brother-in-law, Raymond Wickwire.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held in the Faith United Church of Christ, 400 Ash Street, Ridgway, on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Stephen Fair officiating.
