Albert J. Pichler, 87, of 207 Fairview Road, Kersey, passed away peacefully Friday, December 12, 2025 at Pinecrest Nursing Home.
He was born March 19, 1938 in St. Marys, son of the late Albert J. and Mary Anzinger Pichler, Sr. Al was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Kersey High School, and a proud veteran of the United States Army.
On October 27, 1962, in Sacred Heart Church, Al married the late Marlene Schatz, who preceded him in death on April 6, 2018.
Al is survived by his daughter, Sharon Pichler of St. Marys; his son, Karl Pichler of Kersey; his granddaughter, Emily Slaughenhaupt and her fiancé, Bryan Rose; a great-grandson, Karson Rose; his sisters, Nancy Challingsworth and Betty Swanson, both of Kersey; a sister-in-law, Ellen Pichler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Pichler.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Al found great joy in nature-whether he was hunting, casting a line, or riding his motorcycle down an open road. He loved the thrill of four-wheeling and the stillness of a day spent fishing. Above everything, Al was a devoted family man. His happiest moments were those spent with his loved ones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 10:00AM with Rev. Christopher Beran, Pastor, celebrating. Full military rites will be accorded by the Fox Township Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface Gathering Space on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 9:00AM until the time of service.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Pinecrest Manor Activities Fund, 763 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 or to a favorite charity of one’s choosing.
