Albert A. Cornelio

Albert A. Cornelio, 97, of 565 Brusselles Street and a resident of Silver Creek Terrace in St. Marys, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019, at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness.

He was born July 3, 1921, in Fairmont, WV, son of the late Octavio and Carmella Trio Cornelio.  He attended Fairmont schools.  In 1986, he retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after forty years of service.  Also, Albert was a member of Queen of the World Church.

On June 30, 1951, in St. Gabriel’s Church in Port Allegany, PA, Albert married Nadine M. Haines, who preceded him in death on June 19, 1986.  He served in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran.  He loved to play horseshoes, bowl, and throw darts.  He also loved to watch boxing and tennis as well as the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.

Albert is survived by one son, Thomas J. Cornelio and his wife, Connie of St. Marys; one daughter, Paula A. Clark and her husband, Michael Clark, Jr. of Coopersburg, PA; four grandchildren, Katie (Ryan) Kuczynski, Adam Cornelio, Christopher Clark, and Brian Clark; and by three great grandchildren, Rocco, Gabriella, and Jack Kuczynski.  Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Bauer, Josephine Martin, and Irene Hnath, all of St. Marys; and by his brother-in-law, Kenneth F. Haines of Saint Marys.

Along with his parents and his wife, Nadine, Albert was preceded in death by two brothers, Antonio and Orester Cornelio; and by three sisters, Rose Garbic, Helen Cornelio, and Theresa Feldbauer.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, officiating.  Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
