Aileen M. Hanes, 50, of 154 Laurel Lane, Kersey, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born April 15, 1965, in St. Marys, daughter of Joseph and Jean Leithner Petrilli, who survive of St. Marys. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1983. She was a former employee of Keystone Powdered Metal Company and was also co-founder and co-owner of C & A Seamless Gutters, where she was currently working.
On September 17, 1988, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Carl M. Hanes, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Kristy Hanes at home; a son, Tony Hanes at home; a sister, Phyllis Petrilli of Chicago, IL; and two brothers, Paul Petrilli and his wife Beverly of Davidsville, PA and Roger Petrilli and his wife Tara of Lancaster.
Aileen was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, where she volunteered on the Funeral Bereavement Committee. She was a member of the Bavarian Hills Flower League and was actively involved at the Elk County Catholic High School, volunteering in the cafeteria and serving as the softball coach. She was an avid runner and enjoyed playing racquetball. Aileen was a very giving person, taking care of family and friends in their times of need.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Monday, September 14, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli and Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, concelebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
