Adeline Lenze

May 1, 1922 — November 8, 1941

Adeline E. Lenze, 89, of 155 Cross Road, Saint Marys, passed away Thursday (8-18-2011) at the DuBois Regional Medical Center unexpectedly.  She was born May 1, 1922, in Saint Marys, daugher of the late William and Adeline Cannon Minnick.  She was a lifelong resident of the area nad was a graduate of Central High School and the Fort Worth Texas School of Photography.  She was co-owner of Lenze Commercial Studios and had been nationally recognized as a portrait artist and was in demand as a teacher and lecturer at seminars.  Her paintings and photos received national and international awards.  Mrs. Lenze was also involved with Amway and Herbal Life Companies.  She was an ordained minister for Restoration Ministries and was a counselor to many people.

On November 8, 1941, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Mark C. Lenze adn he preceded her in death on June 11, 2010.

She is survived by five daughters: Kathryn “Kitty” Straub (Frank X.) of Saint Marys; JoAnne Hoffman of Bronxville, NY; Irene Penfield (Joseph) of Surfside, CA; Patricia Hoh (William) of Ridgway; Annette Rupprecht (Mark) of Saint Marys; 2 sons: Mark D. Lenze (Sibby) of Johnsonburg; R. Lincoln Lenze (Debbie) of Hollywood, PA; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Genevieve McBride of Waterloo, NY; Mary Smith of Saint Marys; Rita Minnick of Twenty Nine Palms, CA; and a brother William A. Minnick (Arlene) of Saint Marys.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher G. Lenze in 1975, and 7 sisters; Viola Gribble, Julie Schreiber; Clara Glatt; Rose Stauffer; Anna Bobenreith; Gertrude Cheatle; and in infancy, Helen Minnick.

Mrs. Lenze loved to sew, paint, read, and spread God’s Word.

Funeral services will be held in the Shiloh Presbyterian Church on Monday (8-22-2011) at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Scott Wiest and Pastor Richard Hoffman, her grandson, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Saint Marys Cemetery.
