Nora A. Fox, 104, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 681 Washington Street, St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born November 28, 1916, in Munson, PA, daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes McGrath Moriarty. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools. Nora was a retired employee of GTE Sylvania, retiring with over 30 years of service.
On February 8, 1937, in Greenville, PA, Nora married her husband of 76 years, Charles L. Fox, Jr., who preceded her in death on June 18, 2009.
She is survived by her daughters: Sallie A. Wittman and her husband Edwin “Pike” of St. Marys and Mary Jo Jarvie and her husband Dr. John “Jack” of Erie; seven grandchildren: Wendy Wittman, Amy Broome, Laura Hastings, Brandon Fox, Nora Jarvie, John Jarvie, and Mary P. Jarvie; and by 11 great-grandchildren: Hallie Broome; Ben and Amanda Hastings; Jacob and Noah Fox; Rachel and Shane Haversat; Elizabeth Jarvie; and Payton, Jane, and Catherine Taylor.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nora was preceded in death by her son, Charles “Chuck” Fox in September 2014; her sister, Marge Herzing; and by four brothers: Thomas, John, James, and Jerome Moriarty. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Nora was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. She was creative and industrial; able to make anything and was especially gifted in sewing, crocheting, and upholstering.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, November 26, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

I have known Nora most of my life as I was friends with her son Chuck since we were kids. My condolences to the family.
