Elouise Riley Garthwaite |

November 9, 2024 - November 12, 2024

Elouise Riley Garthwaite, infant daughter of Jed Garthwaite and Abagail Wittman of DuBois, passed away surrounded by her loving family at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Elouise was born on November 9, 2024 in Sevierville, TN.  Just three days later, she was welcomed home to heaven by her father’s childhood dog, Riley, from whom she affectionately received her middle name.  Prior to her birth, Jed and Abby, are thankful for the time they spent together traveling during pregnancy with her to visit places like Boston, Nashville, the Pittsburgh Zoo, and to Ride the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina.  Elouise even attended a Stevie Nicks concert and finally got to visit Tennessee and Ohio on her own after she was born in the Dolly Parton Birthing Unit in Sevierville.

In addition to her parents, Elouise is survived by her maternal aunt and uncle, Hannah Schlimm (TJ) and John Wittman, Jr., both of St. Marys; a new baby cousin on the way; her maternal grandparents, John and Deana Wittman of St. Marys; her paternal grandparents, Jeff and Kerry Garthwaite of DuBois; maternal great-grandmother, Carnith Piccirillo of Ridgway; and maternal great-grandfather, John L. Wittman of St. Marys.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Donald Piccirillo; maternal great-grandmother, Maureen Wittman; paternal great-grandparents: Louise Garthwaite and Albert and Beverly Johnston; great-aunt Denise, great-aunt Julia, great-great-aunt Barbara, and great-great-uncle Pike.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 10:00AM, with the Rev. Thomas Curry, O.S.B. officiating.

Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Treasure Lake Bark Park, 270 Anguilla Road, DuBois, PA  15801.
