William F. "Bill" Hetrick | 70

March 8, 1953 - November 8, 2023

William F. “Bill” Hetrick, 70, of 110 Mason Road, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Pinecrest Manor.

He was born March 8, 1953 in St. Marys, son of the late Charles “Charlie” and Monica Weisner Hetrick.  He was a lifelong resident of the area, a St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1971, and was a former owner of The Wizard as well as Bill’s Auto Body, where he truly enjoyed working on cars and the customers in which he considered his friends.

Bill is survived by his long-time, loving partner, Patricia Wilson; one daughter, Darby Hetrick of Erie; a step-daughter, Niki Wilson Grey (Harold) of Hilo, HI; two grandchildren: Felicity and Colin Grey; and his brother, Robert “Bob” Hetrick (Patricia) of Culpepper, VA.

Bill enjoyed the company of others especially his family and friends.  He loved the outdoors and working with his hands.  He was a painter and a sculptor and enjoyed playing cards.  He will be missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 10:00AM with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, celebrating. 

There will be no visitation.

  1. Patty, so sorry to hear about Bill. I just found out today. I wished I could have been at Bill’s mass. I always enjoyed visiting with Bill when he painted my vehicles over the years. My mom, Irene always got on him about his hair, we always had a good laugh over it. I imagine him and uncle George (KO) are getting ready for hunting season right about now.
