William “Bucky” C. Benson, 85, of 123 Railroad Street, Ridgway (Daguscahonda), passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Pinecrest Manor, after an illness of the past few months.

He was born April 23, 1936, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Mary Benson Harris. Bucky grew up in Bennetts Valley and was a graduate of Penfield High School. He was a retired employee of Sylvania, retiring in 1996.

On February 5, 1966, in the St. Benedict’s Church in Daguscahonda, Bucky married Joyce Mae Wolff, who preceded him in death on April 8, 2015.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Benson (Suzette) of St. Marys; four grandchildren: William Benson (Angela), Jessica Stanley (Keith), Jayna Cunningham (Luke), and Jessica Wilson (Curtis); three great-grandchildren: Airyana Scarnati, Levi Wilson, and Ivy Wilson; his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Benson of Daguscahonda; and by his cousins, Naomi Maloni of Bennetts Valley and Ted Walters of Emporium.

In addition to his wife and mother, Bucky was preceded in death by his son, Tracy Benson on August 25, 2021.

Bucky was always loyal to the Valley, going each morning for cappuccino with the boys. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, going to yard sales and flea markets, and sitting on the bench at Walmart to people watch. Most of all, Bucky loved his grandchildren and family.
