Wanda L. Russell | 62

September 19, 1958 - July 6, 2021
Wanda L. Russell, 62, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of North Michael Street, St. Marys, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Pinecrest Manor, after a lengthy illness.

She was born September 19, 1958, in St. Marys, daughter of the late William and Shirley Laird Evans. Wanda was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1978, and attended Mount Aloysius College in Cresson. She was an employee of the former Four Lane Fuels and BP, as well as the South St. Marys Street Elementary School, Walmart, Maranatha Optical, and she served as a sign interpreter for the deaf.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Rachelle Thompson and her husband Christopher of Timberville, VA; two sons: Brent Russell and his wife Danni of Ridgway and Emmanuel “Manny” Russell of Stanley, VA; four grandchildren: Lucas Russell, Logan Russell, Annabella Russell, and Hunter Thompson; three sisters: Sharon Buerk and her husband Dennis of St. Marys; Yvonne Neilson and her husband Paul of Ridgway; and Darlene Nortum of St. Marys; her brother, Dennis Evans and his wife Nancy of St. Marys; and by her nieces and nephews.

Wanda was a member of the New Hope in Christ Church in Ridgway. She enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time outdoors, and working on cars.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Paul McCurdy officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Pinecrest Manor, 763 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

    Brent, Richelle, Manny and the entire Evans family, I loved Wanda like a sister and always will keep her in my heart! I’m sending you all prayers for peace.
