Thomas R. Polaski | 85

Thomas R. Polaski, 85, of 468 Main Street, Kersey, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021, at the DuBois Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 4, 1936, in Johnsonburg, son of the late Lawrence and Josephine Euken Polaski. Thomas was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and worked for 32 years in the Elk County Tax Assessment Office.

On February 14, 1976, in Ridgway, Thomas married Roberta E. Drake, who survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Sarah Polaski, of Washington, DC; one son, Ivan Polaski, of Moon Township, PA; two granddaughters, Lydia and Gabriella Polaski; one sister, Dorothy Liscinski of St. Marys; and one brother, Eugene Polaski (Kathy) of Erie.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Cecelia Tuttolomondo; and by two brothers, Larry Polaski and Walter Polaski.

Thomas was a member of the Emporium United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Tri-County Firemen’s Association, and was a certified Pennsylvania Volunteer Firefighter Instructor for 50 years. Thomas was also a member of the Dagus Mines American Legion and he enjoyed gardening.

Funeral and committal services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
