Thomas G. Drabant, 79, of 1395 Bucktail Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh.
He was born March 22, 1943, in St. Marys, son of the late John and Caroline Sarginger Drabant. Tom was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School. He was a retired employee of National Fuel.
On April 18, 1964 in the Sacred Heart Church, Tom married Mary Loeffler, who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters: Amy Havanis (Michael) of Eighty Four, PA and Sally Eckert (John) of Ridgway; his son, Andrew Drabant (Deanna) of Danville, PA; six grandchildren: Kira Poerio (Luciano), Luke Eckert, Chloe Drabant, Clinton Havanis, Lily Havanis, and Ava Havanis; his sister, Norma Mosier and her husband George of Kersey; and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Zelt and in infancy, Shirley Drabant; and by three brothers, Robert and John Drabant and Joseph Drabant, in infancy.
Tom was a member of the Queen of the World Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and time spent at his camp. Tom was a great baseball player and spent time in the Pirates organization playing in the minor leagues. His passion for baseball benefitted his community as he volunteered his time and shared his knowledge with the knothole and little leagues throughout the area. Above everything, he was devoted to his wife of 58 years, his children, his grandchildren, and was looking forward to meeting his future great-grandchild.
