Thomas C. Nussbaum, Sr. | 80

March 7, 1941 - October 16, 2021

Thomas C. Nussbaum, Sr., 80, of 262 West Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Snyder Memorial Health Care Center in Marionville. He is now reunited with his wife, whom he loved dearly.

He was born March 7, 1941, in St. Marys, son of the late William and Walburga “Wally” Meyer Nussbaum. Tom was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School. He was a retired employee of Gerg Tool and Die.

On May 4, 1967, in the St. Mary’s Church, Tom married Martha F. Schatz, who preceded him in death on September 14, 2020.

He is survived by his daughters: Sharon Zambanini and her husband Jeff of Kersey and Jennifer McAllister and her husband Jim of St. Marys; his son, Thomas C. Nussbaum, Jr. of St. Marys; three grandchildren: Dominic Zambanini, Mason McAllister, and Grace McAllister; three step-grandchildren: Tish, Tosh, and Matt; three brothers: James Nussbaum, Robert Nussbaum and his wife Cookie, and William Nussbaum and his wife Vicky, all of St. Marys; and by his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Herzing; and by a brother, Richard Nussbaum.

Tom attended the Sacred Heart Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and garden, but his greatest love was his children and grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday morning, from 10:30 until 11:30 AM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
