Ruth M. Trumble | 98

July 9, 1923 - April 16, 2022

Ruth M. Trumble, 98, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, formerly of 25 Hauber Ave., St. Marys, passed away after a brief illness, Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Elk Haven Nursing Home.

She was born July 9, 1923, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Benninger Erich. Ruth was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1941.

On August 15, 1953, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ruth married the late Gerald T. “Jug” Trumble, who preceded her in death on March 4, 2007.

She is survived by her son, Gerald T. “Jed” Trumble, Jr. (Debbie Perry) of McMechen, WV.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy and by her three sisters: Alice Cassidy, Irma Erich, and Edna Kastner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Ruth was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a kind person that loved her family and friends. She was proud of her home and cherished all of the many moments that she spent with her family and friends in it.

There will be no visitation

A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home, 785 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 or to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

  2. Mrs Trumble was an extremely kind and generous lady who always made me feel welcome in her home. Her sharp wit was deceiving behind her gentle mannerisms and she always kept me on my toes.

    I cherish all the memories.
