Rosemary Ackley | 80

February 21, 1941 - November 6, 2021

Rosemary Ackley, 80, of 125 Fairview Road, Kersey, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Elk Haven Nursing Home, after a brief illness.

She was born February 21, 1941, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Herbst Miles.  Rosemary was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1961.  She worked at Powdered Metal Products for many years, the green house arranging flowers, and volunteered her time at the Resale Shop in St. Marys.

On May 7, 1959, in the St. Mary’s Church, Rosemary married the late James R. Ackley, who preceded her in death on October 27, 2021.

She is survived by three daughters: Cynthia A. Herzing (Jeff) of St. Marys, Brenda L. Mohney (Tim) of St. Marys, and Annette Meyer Hanes (Ron) of St. Marys; by three sons: Stephen J. Ackley (Lisa) of Laurinburg, NC, Ronald E. Ackley (Dawn Cheatle) of Kersey, and Martin P. Ackley (Chris) of Kersey; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; four sisters: Christine Wendel of St. Marys, Jane Dixon (Neil) of Florida, Virginia Sorensen of St. Marys, and Kathy Shannon (Terrence) of St. Marys; by one brother, Charles Miles of St. Marys; and by several nieces and nephews.

Rosemary liked to plant flowers and ride horses.  She enjoyed coloring pictures, had a love for angels, and would often stop at any garage sale that she passed.  Luck seemed to always be on her side during her trips to the casino and when she would play her scratch-off-tickets.  She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service to be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 12:30 PM at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home with the Rev. Ross Miceli officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.

  2. Hi mom I can’t believe that you’re really gone…. remember the time me and you cleaned the priest house. Then afterword we went over to Auman’s Store. The guy who was working at the store took our picture and told us that it will be placed at the Historical Society with a bunch of others. I’m going to go and see if I can find it soon. Remember sitting at the table coloring and drinking coffee. While we were working at the Greenhouse. The boss had just let you and me plant those beautiful flowers in front of the bank downtown where Farmers National is now. That was fun. There are so many beautiful memories that I will never forget. When I hear the song “Fancy Like” I will always think of you dancing in the living room to that commercial that plays that song. I love you always and forever, until we meet again. Fly high with the angels. Sweet dreams Mom❤️
    Love
