Robert B. Kriegel | 88

June 1, 1933 - August 16, 2021

Robert B. Kriegel, 88, of Lighthouse Point, FL, and formerly of Johnsonburg, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021, in St. Marys, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 1, 1933, in Johnsonburg, son of the late Anthony C. and Gertrude Keenen Kriegel. Robert was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country during the Korean Conflict on the USS Hornet. After serving in the Navy, he attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, MI.

On February 4, 1956, in the Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, Robert married Delores Wilson, who preceded him in death on February 22, 2010 after 54 years of marriage.

He is survived by his fiancée, Patricia Sherry of St. Marys; two daughters: Catherine Davis (Ben) of Whittier, NC and Deborah Bardill (Joseph) of Pompano Beach, FL; two sons: Patrick Kriegel (Elena) of Lighthouse Point, FL and Michael Kriegel (Sandra) of Otto, NC; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sarah Neilson of Johnsonburg and Nancy Chiesa (Jerry) of Johnsonburg; and one sister-in-law, Rose Kriegel of Johnsonburg.

In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by three sisters: Agnes Mehalko, Frances Jackson, and Katherine Brown; and by three brothers: Richard Kriegel, Eugene Kriegel, and Lyle “David”0 Kriegel.

Robert was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and a member of the St. Elizabeth Men’s Club in Pompano Beach. He was a fantastic cook, an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed gardening. Above anything, his family came first. He will be missed.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at a future date to honor the life of Robert Kriegel. Interment will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
