Richard M. Meyer, 73, of 357 Meyer Road, St. Marys, passed away following a lengthy illness, Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his home, with his family by his side.

He was born November 11, 1949 in St. Marys, son of the late Robert J. and Katherine DeLullo Meyer.  He was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School.  Rich was extremely proud of his service for his country, serving in the United States Army as an Infantryman with the 7/17 Air Calvary during the Vietnam War.

On May 17, 2014, in St. Marys, Rich married Leah E. Erich, who survives.

Along with his loving wife, Leah, Rich is survived by one daughter, Vicki Johnson (Scott) of St. Marys; his son, Tony Meyer (Tracy) of Winchester, VA; three grandchildren: Kyla and Ava Johnson and Jack Meyer; two step-children: Stephanie Hanes Larabee (Chris) of Shalimar, FL, Jason Hanes (Marguerite) of St. Marys; seven step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; five sisters: Connie Otteni (late Dave) of Coatsville, PA , Mary Wool ( Jim ) of Jersey Shore, PA , Julia Rollick (Mike) of Byrnedale, PA, Barbara Vollmer (Dave) of Kersey, PA, and Annette Agosti of St. Marys, PA; six brothers: Robert Meyer, Jr. (April) of St. Marys, PA, Tom Meyer (Cindy) of St. Marys, PA, Steve Meyer (Lori) of Philipsburg, PA, Andy Meyer (Melissa) of St. Marys, PA, Bill Meyer (Marcy) of St. Marys, PA, and Dean Meyer (Kristin) of Watrous, PA; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death his wife of 33 years, Pauline Rollick Meyer on November 26, 2012; his daughter, Tamara Meyer, on October 7, 2023; and by an infant daughter, Katrina Meyer, in 1974.

Rich worked his entire life in St. Marys with 29 years in the carbon plants and was co-owner of W&H Machine Shop at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles Club, and Camp Owners Association, where he served as president for two years.

Rich was a huge family man who loved reminiscing about his childhood family and friends, researching his ancestors, and cherishing every moment and memory with them. Taking rides to Sunnyside camp, playing cards with his brothers and friends, and going to his grandkids’ events is how he spent most of his days. Going to Sunday mass and breakfast after with Leah and family brought joy and warmth to his heart.
