Richard K. Michuck, affectionately known as Rat, of 34 Carr Lane, St. Marys, passed away at the age of 69, following a lengthy illness Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois with his children by his side.
He was born June 13, 1954, son of Jean Weidow Wise and the late Joseph Michuck, II. He was a lifelong resident of the area, attended St. Marys schools, retired from Powder Metal Products, and was a committed member of the Crystal Fire Department for 30 years, where he was a deputy fire chief for some of those years.
In addition to his mother, Jean, he is survived by his daughter, Tracy Chiesa, and her husband, Melvin of St. Marys; his son, Long Huynh Michuck of St. Marys; sisters: Peggy Michuck and Mary Kay Smith, both of St. Marys; brothers: Steven Michuck (Yvonne) and Thomas Michuck, both of St. Marys; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his father, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Michuck, III; a brother-in-law, Steven Smith; and a step-brother, Charles Wise.
Rat was a member of the Moose Club and took great pride in his service with the Crystal Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his time outdoors. He took pride in his family and loved seeing everyone together. He was a very kind and generous man, always there to help in any way he could. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 1:00PM with Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the time of service in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to Crystal Fire Department, 319 Erie Avenue, St. Marys, PA 15857 or to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
We were so sorry to hear about “Rat”- we had some good times at the Fire Hall-Rest In Peace-climb that ladder one more time to heaven.
Rick (Rat) was a good mentor to me when I first joined the department. I am so sorry for your loss. Now may he rest in peace and pain free. 🙏 RIP. Rick Rat Michuck
