Richard A. Cavalline | 84

November 11, 1937 - April 22, 2022

Richard A. Cavalline, 84, of 396 Ash Street, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 22, 2022.

He was born November 11, 1937, in Kersey, son of the late Louis P. and Marie Malone Cavalline.  Dick was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1956.  He was a retired employee of Pure Carbon Co. and was proud of his country, serving in the United States Army National Guard.

On February 13, 1960 in the Shiloh Presbyterian Church, Dick married the late Margaret Jeanne Urbancic, who preceded him in death on March 8, 2022.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Meyer and her husband Ernie of Sausalito, CA; his son, Christopher Cavalline and his wife Jodi of Wellington, FL; six grandchildren: Christopher Jr., Carson, Cole, Madison, McKensie, and Kelsey; three great-grandchildren; by his two sisters: Karen Lang (John “Yogi”) of Kersey and Denise Sago of Kersey; and by his sister-in-law, Julie Cavalline.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his son Timothy James Cavalline on December 24, 1995; and by his brother, Jerome J. Cavalline on February 14, 2013.

He was a member of the Shiloh Presbyterian Church.  Dick was passionate about golfing with his friends at the St. Marys Golf and Country Club – participating in many leagues. While he loved all things golf – he especially enjoyed the 19th hole. He was an active member of the St. Mary’s Quarterback Club, the St. Marys American Legion, and the PFL.  Dick was a family guy who loved to spend time in the sun at the beach.  He loved all sports – particularly the Steelers.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 6:00 PM.  Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

  2. Lisa, Chris and families, Sorry for your heartbreaking loss. I will miss seeing Dick showing up for a QB meeting once in a while. Always like talking with him over the years. One of my favorite as we say in the club old timers. I imagine his smile upon seeing “His Bride” again. I would have attended had I been in town. A big loss for sure. Deepest Sympathy.
