P. Michael Schloder, 79, of 111 Villa Road, St. Marys, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at Penn Highlands Elk with his family by his side.

He was born, August 1, 1944 in St. Marys, son of the late Wilfred G. “Willie” and Dolores Hoffman Schloder.  Mike was a lifelong resident of the area, attended Sacred Heart Grade School, and was a member of the last graduating class at Central High School, Class of 1962.  Mike was employed at Keystone from 1962 until 1997 and was President of Specialty Pressed Components from 1997 until 2007.

On September 19, 1964, in Queen of the World Church, Mike married Geraldine “Gerry” Meyer, who survives.  They were blessed to share nearly 59 years of marriage.

Along with his loving wife, Gerry, Mike is survived by one daughter, Mary Lynn Carnovale (Paul) of St. Marys; two sons: David Schloder (Robbyn) and Michael Schloder (Shannon), both of St. Marys; eight grandchildren: Jacob Carnovale, Gina Carnovale, Lacie Goetz (Tom), Libby Schloder (Bryce Bowser), Logan Schloder, Atasha Schloder, Ariana Schloder, and Noah Schloder (Cheyeanne); three step-grandchildren: Tyler Reynolds, Alec Wehler, and Tyler Wehler; and seven great-grandchildren; and by his brother, Thomas Schloder (Kim) of St. Marys and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike was a member of Queen of the World Church, CMF, Camp Owners president for 12 years, ASTM Standard Committee Chairman.  He loved music, playing his guitar, hunting, golf, bowling, and four wheeler rides.  He was an avid gardener and appreciated all that nature had to offer he and his family.  He rarely passed up the chance to travel or go camping.  He took particular enjoyment going to the camps of his brothers-in-law and taking rides to camp with his great friend, Paul Manning.  There was nothing more important to Mike than his loving wife and family, especially his grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10:30 AM, with the Rev. Kevin Holland, celebrating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
