Michael J. Iorfida | 62

February 20, 1961 - March 8, 2023

Michael J. Iorfida, 62, of E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born February 20, 1961, in St. Marys, son of the late John J. and Mary Polaski Iorfida, Sr. Mike was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1979, and was employed at Keystone Powdered Metal and Amphenol, where he was currently employed.

On June 7, 2008 at the Bavarian Hills Golf Course, Mike married Tanya L. Schrecengost, who survives.

Along with his loving wife, Mike is survived by his daughter, Jordan Iorfida (Nick) of St. Marys; his son, Zachary Iorfida of St. Marys; a grandson, Landon; a sister, Jolene Braun of St. Marys; a brother, John J. Iorfida, Jr. of St. Marys; his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Sharon Schrecengost of Mt. Jewett; his brother-in-law, Gary Schrecengost of Mt. Jewett; and his nieces and nephews: Jared, Dillon, and Raechel Braun, Brandon and Taylor Eckstrom, and Jenna Baxter.

Along with his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Eckstrom and a brother, Kevin Iorfida.

Mike was proud of his service to his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a man of many interests and talents. He enjoyed woodworking, brewing beer, drawing, and painting. He had a great love for music and cooking. He enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Mike had a special place in his heart for his dogs and nothing was dearer to him than the time spent with his family.

Funeral services will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:00AM with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 10:00AM until the time of service.

  1. I worked with Mike at amphenol several yrs ago he always made me laugh ..he was a joy to work with…so sorry for ur loss .. prayers!!

  2. Mike was a great guy that smiled and joked around to brighten your day, kind & helpful to everyone he met. He always had the tunes going at work and his sketch’s of hilarious artwork showed his great personality. My sincere condolences to his wife and family.

    And seeing all of our cousins. Mike was such a great guy and I’ve enjoyed chatting with him on Facebook about music. May you find peace in this impossible time.

  10. I considered Mike one of my closest friends, whom I respected, and enjoyed many conversations in recent years despite the distance. We always had much in common, and forged a friendship as early as freshmen in High School. Whenever I returned to visit St. Marys he was the first to make a point that we visit. He lived life doing the things he enjoyed, left us far too early. Condolences to his family. I will truly miss our friendship.
