Mary Jane Palmer, 79, of 72 Erie Avenue, St. Marys, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Penn Highlands Elk, after a brief illness.
She was born November 28, 1942, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Thomas and Marianna Glatt Williamson. Mary Jane was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Central Catholic High School. She was a former employee of Powdered Metal Products as well as Don and Vern’s Machine Company.
On March 31, 1967, in the Queen of the World Church, Mary Jane married James R. Palmer, who preceded her in death on August 26, 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Gerri Ireland and her husband Michael of Weedville; three grandchildren: Isaac Palmer, Kevin Ireland, and Jenna Ireland; and by her sister, Doris Lenox of St. Marys.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her son, David Palmer; a sister, Jeanette Williamson, in childhood; and by four brothers: Harold, Raymond, Richard, and Gene Williamson.
Mary Jane enjoyed cooking and baking, sharing her treats with everyone, and crocheting. She adored her children and grandchildren, cherishing her time spent with them.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 1000 Liberty Avenue, Room 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222; the Elk Haven Nursing Home, 785 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857; or to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 325 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.

Mary Jane was good friends to my late Aunts Edith & Ida who always talked highly of her. My condolences to the family.
