After 97 years of love and laughter, Martina (“Betty” Wagner) Dicello died June 6, 2025, after a brief illness, in Saint Marys Pennsylvania.
She was born May 13, 1928, daughter of the late George and Marcella (Hanes) Wagner.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Maribeth (Wayne) Hodge, from Lacrosse, VA and a son, Robert (Deby) Dicello, from Gaithersburg, MD. She has one surviving sister, Nancy (Howie) Kronenwetter, and one surviving brother, George (Ann) Wagner. Also surviving are, granddaughters: Deela, Danielle, and Devin Dicello and Deanna (Justin) Magerer; Goddaughter, Peggy (Kevin) Standing, Godson, John (Barb) Samick, special niece, Karen Croyle, and many other nieces and nephews.
Betty graduated from Saint Marys High school in 1945 and in the 40’s and 50’s, was a soloist with a local radio station. She married the late, Genario Dicello from Kane at Fort Carson Colorado in 1956. Her husband was an Army veteran of thirty-two years. She loved Army life and travelling all over the world with her husband and children. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, and playing laugh filled card games with her sisters and other family members and Bingo wherever and whenever she could.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband on April 12, 2005. She was also predeceased by two brothers: Willam (Bill) Wagner and Charles (Bud) Wagner; five sisters: Mary Jane (Bill) Kelly, Lucille (Stony) Samick, Lorraine (Mickey) McMackin, Shirley (Tony) Niedzwecki, and Barbara (Ray) Gradl; and one granddaughter, Kaitlin (Randy) Mcmahan.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Saint Boniface Church in Kersey, PA on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10:00AM with Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, celebrating. She will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
There will be no visitation.

Even though I only had the pleasure of only Knowing Betty for a short period of time she sure warmed my heart dearly and it was an absolute pleasure to care for Betty. I loved her personality, she was a great woman. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful woman with me. Thinking of each and every one of you. My Deepest Condolences.
I know that no words can ease your pain, I truly hope that you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and the memories you hold dear of your Mom.

To Bob and Maribeth, I’ll always remember your gracious Mom living across the street from us in Kersey “back in the day”.

I am sorry but glad you made it up the the hospital to see her. I will surely miss her, she always made me smile. Marybeth and Bob you were very fortunate to have her around as long as you did. Hugs to you all.
